If you don't want to do it in person write a letter setting out what you are owed. Send it with proof of posting (free from the post office) rather than Recorded as that can be refused. Give a time scale for when you expect the money to be paid (maybe 14 days). If you don't get it then you can move on to a Letter Before Action followed by a Small Claim, but we can tell you more about that if it's needed.

It sounds like you may have quit without working your notice, if you did you may find that your ex-employer will try to counter claim, if that does happen come back for more suggestions on what to do.

Just been thinking, I opted for the job on a basis of 22 hours per week. Some weeks I done 17 hours and others I done 30 hours.
Will this change the amount I'm owed?
Also is it to forward to call the accountant (whom I have a good relationship with) and ask whether he has calculated my holiday pay? So I know what I'm working with.
  • I got my holiday pay of £409 so underpayment of £230 or so. Nothing I can do for that, she wanted me to come and talk to her, let her explain why it was lower than what was expected. I just couldn't be bothered. I just wanted out of there and out of the whole work place, wanted away from them and plus, with no work and 3 kids to support, I couldn't afford to wait another 2 week or so for any money from her. I needed the money there and then.

You said your hours varied each week well that would change the calculation regarding ang holiday owed to you. Work out exactly how many hours you actually worked in total and multiply it by 12.07% the result is how many hours holiday you earned.
