Hi

I think my niece maybe being stiched up - can an estate agent (Firm) ever secure a house and put a lock on it and allow only restricted access? Has anybody ever heard of this?

Thx

As I understand it, your niece was issued with a repossession order, a week ago. This 'order' stated that the house would be 'repossessed' in 14 days.
    Are those 14 days up?

  • Hi

The 14 days are not up but she says it's not county court order of eviction but that the estate agents have secured it with a lock and that she goes to them for the key. Does that sound right? Her husband is an estate agent and my niece has learning difficulties. As far as I know the house only has a 20k mort on it and it is worth 120k. Does this estate agent thing sound right?

My bros is of to see the estate agent and find out what is going on....just wondered if this is right..does county court give keys to estate agent?

    Thx

DEFINITELY iffy to me, MBF. If the eviction order gives her 14 days, then that should be respected by ALL parties.
Who actually issued the eviction order, and what does it say?
