Single/Married Pension

I reached pension age 18 months ago a;though I still also work part time.
My husband does not reach pension age for another 12 years.
Ive just been listening to George Osbourne talking about the pensions and it quoted that the pension for a single person will be going up.
Thats not the issue which concerns me as I get more than the state minimum.
What has just occurred to me is that I had never thought in terms of the single/married pension. We got married 3 months ago, should it make any difference to what I get? As my husband is not on the pension for some years yet I have just assumed that my pension would go on as it was until that time. Is that correct?

There is no "married pension" as such. What the chancellor really means is "the pension for one person".
You get your pension when you reach state pension ago, he gets his when he reaches state pension age. One does not, normally, affect the other except for divorce, widowed etc.0 -
