Waitrose boxed shortbread

The 450g all butter shortbread selection box is on offer at £3 instead of £4 at the moment but it's also on PYO, so you can get another 20% off.

If you haven't already picked it, I think they're letting you change your picks for Christmas.

You can change up to the 9th December, I think. I changed to include this shortbread - works out at £2.40 and it's delicious!!!!!! Had to test it to see if it's worth buying another one.....

I wouldn't worry too much about that. Provided you buy 'all butter' shortbread it all tastes very much the same - because the ingredients are always pretty much the same: flour, butter, sugar and salt.

Aldi and Lidl are the cheapest at around 25p per 100gms, Tesco and Sainsbury's at around 40p. This works out at 67p.

Anything that contains vegetable oil of any sort instead of butter may be cheaper - but it's invariably disgusting!

Changed it to one of my picks and got a couple of packs, good price and makes a nice little Xmas gift for a neighbour or stocking filler.


Having said that I'll most probably scoff the lot!

I don't feel quite so guilty when only some of the biscuits are covered with chocolate, as they are in this box

just noticed that 2 of the boxes I got are 'normal' boxes and the other 2 are Christmas decorated ones.

BBdates on the normal boxes will be ok for Easter though - if they last that long!

Their Chocolate Shortcake Selection is on offer at £3. as well, instead of £5. I've so far managed to scoff a box of both all on my own. Good job I have to make a journey to get to Waitrose othewise I'd be buying them far too often!
