Many thanks Snowman, luckily then only a few months will be needed on the current basis. Let's hope George keeps his hands in his pockets on this one.

(for an employed person) All your earnings below the Upper Earnings Limit (£3,583 pm if you are paid monthly) will count towards the £5,824 you require. So quite possible to get a Qualifying Year based on a couple of months of earnings.

(if you are paid monthly and earn less than £485 in any month then those earnings will be ignored, but if you earn say £1,000 in any month then that all counts not just the excess over £485)

I've been completely locked out of the online system by experian.

I couldn't hear the (still) comical code they sent to my phone. Whereas before a voice said something that equally sounded like f or s, they now say f for flower (sounded like an f but the word was pronounced to rhyme with slower so it could still be s for slower or f for flower :rotfl:) and some of the code was conjoined onto the bit where they say 'your access code is' so it isn't obvious if that is part of the code or not, and with other gibberish I won't go into, two hearings isn't enough to guess what they are trying to say. Anyway had to abort that attempt, but when I tried again it now says that they can't log me in.

I rang the experian helpdesk who said they could see no problem with my log in and my account wasn't locked, they said try again in an hour. Tried again 90 minutes later. Still couldn't log in. Rang them again, Experian then sent me a new pasword, still didn't work. Still getting the message 'On this occasion you have not successfully logged in. You can try again later or contact the Experian Helpdesk......' Rang back the experian helpdesk for a third time and the account is still showing as working from their end so they don't know what to suggest. They've referred it to their technical department but it could be 2 weeks before I hear back :(

So my suggestion is to try and get yourself verified by one of the options other than experian if you can.

I am registered with experian and don't get this.

I get a text with the code in, do you not or are you getting a text sent to a non text phone (a landline )?

Thought it might be just me! I get the text code too - and didn't understand Snowman's problem...
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....

Yes my code is a voice message sent to my (non text) landline.

Snowman assuming you don't have a mobile phone, why not just give a friends mobile number for this so you can read it ?

But it needs this every time you log in (two factor verification) and they will use the same service for other services in future.

    Thanks

I do have a mobile, I just happened to provide my landline number when I first verified. With hindsight I would have given my mobile number (and will try and change to that when I have access again).

My current issue is that I can't access my account, but experian don't know why I can't access my account, and so until they look into it, which is going to take a few weeks, I have no access.
