Work Programme & DBS Check

Does anybody know if the Work Provider can make you fill in a DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) form?
If so, will this mean that you will be out of pocket ie money?
By the way, the person who has been given the form, has no intention of working with vulnerable people or children.
If someone can point me to a Freedom of Information request or clarify that would be great. Don't want to be sanction for refusing to fill it in.

No, they can not force you. If they were to sanction you over it you should win the appeal.
Why do they say they need one?
I can't imagine that the work provider would pay.
Freedom of Information request would be to find out what details they have on you, it wouldn't help you with this.0 -
Thanks.
Was trying to place someone voluntarily to work with kids, which they in the end didn't do or indeed want to.
Now banging on about DBS check, and have provided the form to fill in, even though, not wanting to work with vulernable people or children.
Just want it clarified that you shouldn't be out of pocket when on the Work Programme by filling in forms, foisted upon you, and that you don't get sanctioned for refusing to fill it in as that's not the area of work you want to do.0 -
Ah. If they have no experience in that then that doesn't sound like a good placement anyway.
No, they shouldn't be out of pocket and they can not force them to fill out the forms or pay.
They may sanction for refusing because they don't always care if their reason is valid. However, you can appeal and should win.
By the sounds of it having one is of no benefit to them. If they find a job that does want one then they can get one or the employer may pay for one anyway.0
