Holiday entitlement

I think the OP should seek advice, but I suspect that any threat of dismissal for taking a two week holiday, where several alternatives have been given and there is no contractual requirement not to take more than a week at a time would automatically be unfair. Unreasonable can indeed mean unlawful.
Taking a holiday when you've been told you can't is unauthorised absence and in my book would be gross misconduct and a good candidate for instant dismissal. I very much doubt if you can point to any law or regulation that says anyone is entitled to take 2 weeks at a time off, although it did used to be the case (and may still be) that in banking staff were required to take at least one 2 week period off every year to try to enable employee fraud to be spotted.0 -
I haven't said that I'm going to have the time even though my boss has said no.
Other members of staff have taken 5 weeks at a time, so there is no limit on only having 1 week at a time. I have worked at the company for 2 years nd 3 months.0
