hi sarah 501 - change your mobile to text only on O2. If you put £10 on a month you get 500 free text, £15 a month 750 free text and £20 a month 1000 free text. do not use the mobile as a phone just for texting like I do. that way the money never gets used. Also switch your home phone calls to tesco home phone - leave the line rental with BT and pay BT £10 a month for it and tesco will bill you monthly for usage of calls for eg I have stopped ringing too many people all the time and my calls this month was £3.50!!!:T
Trust me 02 are the best for pay as you go. get rid of the contract if you have one.;)
