    Peachyprice is correct! I think the slow setting is just too slow! I would switch it medium and see how you go as I think that should do the trick.

    On my electric S/C I only use the low function for curries, chillies and bolognaise because put simply there is only a small amount of liquid in it.

    Meat turning rancid as it sits there seems like a definite possibility. I'll experiment next time with setting it to medium, and see how it goes.
