I think if you can you're better getting re-chargeable ones.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

What are the batteries for?
There are 3 main types of non-rechargeable AA batteries:-
- Zinc - these tend to be the cheapest, but can offer VFM in low-drain applications.
- Alkaline - these are the mid-market (e.g. Duracell) and tend to be better VFM in higher-drain applications.
- Lithium - these are the most expensive, and are intended for especially high-drain/long-life applications.
For general use, Alkaline is probably the best bet. You can typically buy packs of 4-6 Alkaline batteries in poundshops. Ikea, B&Q and others also have value packs of 8-20 Alkaline batteries at reasonably prices.0 -
Thankyou for the replies. The batteries will be for Christmas LED lights.0

I'd probably try Zinc (10 in a pack from a poundshop) and if each set doesn't seem to last very long, then upgrade to Alkaline.
Rechargeables should work in that application, too, though they might be a little dimmer (slightly lower voltage).0 -
I seem to remember a test a few weeks ago and Lidls batteries came out on top even better than the named brands. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
