Advice for working in the UK

I am a professional with +25 years career managing operations / logistics.
In my country, Portugal , cannot find professional challenges (or I have too many qualifications, or I do not have the appropriate age, etc.).
Looking for more dynamic markets I found that the UK market could be a solution for someone with my professional path. But, regardless of the method (spontaneous job application , job-offer sites , direct response to adds placed), I cannot get any work proposals.
What am I doing wrong? Can someone give me advice or pointing the way.
Thank you, in advance, for any suggestion.

Are you living in the UK?
Sometimes it just helps if you actually are in the UK. If you are in Portugal and know someone with a UK address then I would use that as your address on your CV. I would also get a UK phone number so the recruiter doesn't need to make an international call.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Thanks for your advice.
I'm not, living in the UK.
Finding a UK address would be quite easy but, also, it would be a lie (and I don't want to start any kind of relationship with a lie).
By other side, a UK phone number seems a good suggestion.

I worked in freight for many years , and the big players were always interested in adding multi lingual logistics operators to their various country departments
Have you approached any of those directly?Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
Yes, I had.
In the last months, I've replied to all job offers, posted on web-sites, where my language skills (I speak Portuguese, Spanish, French and a little bit of German and Italian) could make a difference (including job offers, posted in the UK, to work in Latin America).
I've have not received any contact for follow up. Just the standard rejection emails:(0 -
