5 yr old CCJ - any solution/compromise with debt company?

5 yr old ccj prevents me getting credit.
I cannot afford to pay the full amount - £1000
The company who have the ccj once offered me a reduced amount payment in agreement not to use the ccj against me.
how can I get them to do this again without contacting them and agreeing I owe them debt?
I can afford 50- 100 pound maximum (i'm unemployed)

Hi,
Wait another year, after which they would need to go back to court in order to enforce the CCJ.
Usually six years is concidered time enough for enforcement, so there application may be denied, and you may not have to pay it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. If as you say, you are unemployed, then I'm afraid applying for and taking out any form of credit right now would be a very bad idea. I understand that this wasn't the crux of your question, however I still do want to point that out. Else I fear in another 5 years, you'll be asking this exact same question again....0

Sorry to butt in on this thread, I have had a CCJ for 8 years, does this principle apply to mine? Thanks0 -

In a nutshell yes.
CCJ's don't become statute barred, but, 6 years is concidered time enough for enforcement, if a creditor wanted to enforce a CCJ older than 6 years, they would need a very good reason to convince the court why they could not enforce it previously.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. If you have been paying and then stopped, they would not have any real problem with getting a court to agree to enforcing it.
It's in cases where there has been nothing on the CCJ from either side for 6+ years where they may refuse to allow enforcement.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
