I would get down to the bank and ask for an extension to the overdraft - they should do this if you have filled in their necessary paperwork in connection with the fraud. Other than that, a car boot sale over the bank holiday weekend might get you a few quick pounds raised?

Try giving them a call - with telephone banking, even if you are not registered for telephone banking they should have someone there that you can talk to. Worth a try if you have not already done so.

  • You should be covered for this by your bank so give them a call ASAP.. most fraud linea are open 24hrs.

  • If you are on benifit you can get a loan or crisis loan and they take back so much a week over the coarse of a year.

Can you borrow the money from a friend/relitive .

If you were going to make the payments this week, then I would think that if you phoned them all on tuesday then they may well come to some arrangement, it is aways better to contact them as soon as possible.

Lastly, looking forward, is it possible for you to put a small amount aside each week/month. say £1 a week or £2 a month, somewhere where you will not be tempted to use it. This can be your disaster fund, and when it is upto a level that you a happy with you can take a slice off the top for special treats etc.

Obviously, when times are "tuff" it is difficult to "save" but sometimes you need a disaster like this to create your first or second light bulb moment.

You may have to go without a few regular things before you realise that you could well do without them, or you may well be forced to sell some things to realise that you did not need them anyway, etc etc

    Best of luck.
