Duff advice from removal firm, now they're fully booked...

Turned out I was put through to the wrong branch. No-one in my local branch answered so it got piped-through to some other branch, and it was them who were fully booked. I got off the phone, emailed the guy I'd originally been dealing with and he rang me back.
Quite simple, really.
But you said you had not given them a date to start with, so I am struggling to fathom how your moving date could have been booked.(•_•)

Because when he rang me this afternoon (after I emailed him - remember that bit of this fascinating story?) he asked the date. I told him the date. He booked in the date. Hence the fact it is now booked.
Or maybe I've made the whole thing up and enjoy compulsively lying on internet forums.
You'll never know for sure...0 -
I just hope that you will be very happy in your new home and that the flitting goes to plan.0

Now the comments are getting personal. Cyber bullying is real, people. And it hurts. Oh, boy, it hurts.
You kinda opened the door when you described professional removals firms using the terms "dregs" and "awful". You might get people to be more polite if you extended this courtesy to others."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -

This is what you said on your first post:I got a few quotes nearly two months ago for removals. We chose Bishop's Move (the other two seemed fairly awful) and I emailed them asking if I should preliminarily book our likely completion date. The reply came:
"Thanks for letting me know, I suggest you wait until you have a date, otherwise you may be charged a cancellation fee. Ring the office when you have a date."
So you never gave a date, and never mentioned having given a date. Only that the guy said you should ring when you have a date.
You only rang today to give them the date (now that you have it,) and they said they are fully booked for that date.
Yes you said you emailed him, but you said that was months back, when you wanted to book a removal firm, but he never took the date as you never had one. He told you to ring back when you had a date. So how can he have taken it then? Because you didn't know the date then?
Yes you may have given him the date this afternoon, but they said they were fully booked. And then less than an hour later, you say they had you booked.
I just don't understand how this is possible.

Because it's all a complete lie. I'm 14 and don't even own a house.
Not sure why I'm bothering, but here goes:
I told them the likely date and asked if I should book. No, he said, wait until you've exchanged otherwise I could be charged a cancellation fee if anything goes wrong.
Today, we exchanged. So I rang him. It rang and rang and rang and rang and then someone else answered (not the guy I was expecting).
I said "Hi, you quoted me and now I want to book"
"It's very busy mate," he said "what's the date?"
"14th" I said.
"No, fully booked. Sorry."
"Oh," I said "Goodbye.
Then I emailed the original guy saying I was a bit suprised to learn he was now booked.
He then rang me saying he was away from the phone and, as no-one aswered at my local branch, the call got routed to another branch - it was that branch that was fully booked.
So he booked-in the date. Then I came on here to try and delete the thread, but I couldn't.
Really, really, really simple. Like me.0
