Hello,
I am in the process of tidying up my credit reports and sorting out my finances in the hope of getting a mortgage next year. Out of curiosity i decided to use the loan eligibility checker to see how credit worthy i am now all my defaults have fell off my credit files. To my surprise i was given 20% and 30% as my chance of getting the loans they listed. The only problem i still have to sort out on my credit files is on Equifax where there seems to be confusion over the electoral role and my previous address is listed as my current address and my current address is showing as a linked address. Funny thing is the MSE soft search is not showing on my Equifax or Calllcredit reports so don't see how the Equifax electoral roll issue is causing the problem. The MSE soft search shows up on my Experian report but everything on there looks ok - all green ! Does anyone know which credit agencies the MSE loan eligibility checker uses ? Is it just Experian, or all 3, and the other 2 are just not showing on my reports for some reason ?

Ok, so i read a bit more on the site and seems they just check on Experian. I tried the credit card eligibilty tool and got lots showing as 90% and 95%. Now I am confused. Is it much more difficult to get a loan nowdays and easier to get a credit card ? I don't understand why the tools seem to be saying i would struggle to get a loan but could get a credit card easily.0

I understand nothing is guaranteed but don't understand why when i use the loan eligibility tool there are 2 results at 20% and 30% but when i put the same information into the credit card eligibility tool there are more than 10 results at 90% and 95%. Has anyone else had similar results or understand why there could be such a difference ?0

Generally speaking it is easier to get a credit card than a loan. When applying for a credit card you're just applying for the card rather than a set amount of money as with a loan. You might stand a very good chance of getting a credit card but when you apply find that you're only given a limit of £1k.0
