Help selecting a ceramic hairbrush (to straighten)

Hi, I wondered if anyone could help please. My mums hair has lots of kinks in and she likes it straight however doesn't like to use straighteners often(and finds it hard to do). She saw ceramic brushes that straighten and some of the videos look impressive. I thought I had decided on one until I read the reviews on Amazon saying they were cheap knock offs that didn't work. Could anyone advice on purchasing one (or even if they are any good). Thank you :) :christmastree:

  • I think A good hot air brush is the good for you . It is faster and useful than other tools . I have Babyliss Pro Nano Rotating Hot Air Brush . It is one of the best hot air brushes on the market today. It volumizes your hair and gives it a shiny and healthy look. It has multidirection feature. The 2 inch barrel rotate in both ways to add volume and shine.

You can control its movement to forward or reverse by the push buton. And also compared to the traditional hot air brushes, its ionic technology and anti-static bristles reduce frizz and enhance shine.

It has three temperature settings for all kind of hair. And you can use it for wet and dry hair or long and short hair. You dont have to use it only to volumize and achieve a wavy look for your straight hair but also for your curly hair to settle down and get a smooth wavy look.

But I have to say that it has a tendency to tangling curly hair. And its barrel is pretty large to handle but its a good thing that you dont have to work on that for hours. Only ten minutes is enough for volumized, shining and smooth hair.

I bought the one that is making the rounds on FB from Amazon and I was really pleasantly surprised as I didn't expect the results advertised but I have to say that it does do a very good job. The only downfall I've found is that the brush is quiet heavy (compared to hairstraighteners). I do still use the straighteners but only for about 30seconds and that's because I have a lot of very thick hair. All in all it cuts the time by half and I do like the natural look better then the totally straight one.

I own one. they take some getting used to.

The biggest issue I find is unlike a brush there is no padded area so they don't have any 'give' this means that your hair has to be completely free of knots before you use it else it will hurt.

With my thick. wavy, unruly hair, this is almost impossible. When brushing I am sure my hair starts to tangle up again even before I have taken the brush out.
