CCA requests

Hello,
I am currently on a dmp with Stepchange but am hoping to be in a position to make full and final offers to my creditors next month. I am planning to send CCA requests to all my creditors this week as i am thinking if they don't have the agreements I would have more room to negotiate with them regarding my f&f offer. I am wondering if is ok to send £1 coins as payment for the CCA request as i don't have a chequebook, or will i need to go to the post office for £1 postal orders ? Does it sound like I am going about things in the right way ? All the defaults have now come off my credit file but I would love to end this payment plan now with f&f offers so i can hopefully get a mortgage next year. Any advice much appreciated.

Hi,
You cant send cash, they would not accept it, or it would go "astray".
£1 postal orders are the way to go, although with the post office fee, it comes to £1.50.
Small outlay compared to the potential savings you could make on your accounts if they cant comply.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. OP I feel you are wasting your time in doing this - you would be better off asking for settlement figures immediately and saving the fees.
Even if they cannot find original CCA documentation they could send you a ''reconstituted'' copy.0 -

Really depends on how old the accounts are, if pre April 2007, then very worthwhile, if after this date, it's debatable.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. All debts are pre 2007 so going to send the requests. I know some might think it silly to offer them anything if the debt is unenforceable but i would rather pay and know it is finished than worry about them finding the agreement later and the debt coming back to life. I want to draw a line under my past and move on to the future with my finances in order.0

I'd use postal orders - with the fee for that, and registered post costs, it should come to about £3.50 for each debt.0 -
Oooh yes - registered post - I forgot about that. Hopefully a little money spent now will save me a fair bit later if it puts me in a stronger position to negotiate.0
