Nationwide PPI?

Hi ,all,
nback in 1995 i took out a joint mortgage with Nationwide, which is still active. At the time we requested to take out mortgage protection with them. We were told that wasn't possible and to arrange it independently.
This we did and still have the monthly policy.
According to the Nationwide website, it appear to suggest that from 1990 protection was available through them on mortgages.
My question is, is there any claim, ie mis sold PPI that ca nbe made.
I've made initial contact with Nationwide who confirm that no PPI exists. But surely we were mis sold/ badly advised?
thanks in advance

Sorry, can you just clarify, you are looking for compensation from nationwide because you DIDN'T buy PPi from them?0
-
Yes because we were wrogly advised and it seems we could've incorporated it with the mortgage through Nationwide0

You would need to prove it was available in your specific circumstances, that you would have been accepted for the policy, and that Nationwide specifically recommended the policy that you took, and the because of this you have sustained a financial loss.

Nationwide retailed standalone cover for MPPI. Not built in with the mortgage. My question is, is there any claim, ie mis sold PPI that ca nbe made.
This has to be one of the daftest questions I have seen on here. You are asking if you were mis-sold something you didn't buy from them.
Bank and building society insurance and investment products are typically amongst the worst or most expensive. You want compensation for not buying something from them. Crazy. But surely we were mis sold/ badly advised?
You didnt get advice from them. However, the staff member saved you money if they really did unofficially tell you.
Did you even buy the mortgage from a Nationwide branch or did you use a broker?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). you only got the responses you did because of what you said. Take a step back and look again at it and realise the daftness of what you are saying. You are effectively saying that you want to put in a complaint because you were not mis-sold. Now do you understand the folly of it?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). What loss have you suffered?
In order to get compensation you're going to need to at least how that you suffered a loss.0 -
Nationwide retailed standalone cover for MPPI. Not built in with the mortgage.....
The Nationwide do say that;
If your Mortgage PPI is attached to your mortgage, premiums will also show on your annual mortgage statement as separate PPI premiums.

I'd have thought that was very possibly a reason why Nationwide might have said that they couldn't do it.0
