Change of Job and Pay in Lieu

'Afternoon all

Just wondering if there is anyone on the boards with experience of a one off change in income, namely pay in lieu of notice and lump sum bonus payments while undischarged

Specifically regarding Northern Ireland?

TIA

Its always a bit quiet here on the weekend....
I don't think many people are genned up on OR processes outside of the UK but if its the same as in England - the lump sum bonus is quite likely to be taken by the OR but I'm not sure about the pay in lieu. If its income that's got to tide you over until you get paid by a new employer, I guess you should be able to make a case to the OR that you need it but it would be up to the OR.

A quick update incase anyone else was in a similar position.

I rang my OR and explained the situation. I let them know that my one off payment could be as much as few thousand pounds due to unpaid annual leave and unpaid commissions.

The very nice lady checked with her manager and explained that although my BR would last the full year, she had closed the admin side of my case some months ago and they had no interest in my windfall!

I was sure they'd have the lot off me as they went so far as to take a rates refund of £147 earlier in the year.

For the record, I am in Northern Ireland.
