Banks asking for cards back

I've written to HSBC and asked for reduced payments and they've written back not qaccepting the amount I've offered but asking for a higher amount etc so I'm going to write to them again but they're asking for the card back.
I dont have the card anymore as I cut it up about 2 years ago when I first had my LBM. The letter goes on to say that if I dont return it they will have no choice but to apply the strict terms of the credit card agreement and will result in them asking for the full amount.
What happens now? Does this mean I will be unable to go inot any kind of DMP with HSBC as I dont have my card?

If you're going into a dmp, start it as soon as you can, and let hsbc know who you are dealing with. I was asked for my cards tom be returned when I told the I was enetring a dmp, but I just said I no longer had them. They are maybe asking for your card back just to make sure you don't try to spend on it.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0

They can see I haven't used it in years so nothing I can really do other than tell then it was cut up a long time ago.
They must be able to stop it at their end anyway, so even if I did have it and tried to use it, it would get declined.Lightbulb moment Dec 2005 - debt £23700
