postal dvd rental

I was going to purchase this as a present for one of my friends. I would welcome any advice on which company would be the best to go with, cheapest, most efficient etc. Thank you

Tesco used to be really good. I used to be on the 3DVD rental and could get up to 9 a week because they had excellent turnaround speed. Then Lovefilm took over and this fell to 12 a month. Pity. ended up cancelling.

I'm with Lovefilm on their 2 dvd's at any one time package.
I can normally get four in a week which I think is not unreasonable.
I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!
I'm not losing my hair... I'm getting more head!!
  • I've been with Tesco's for quite some time now & had no problems at all, mine is the 3 DVD + games package which is now £17 a month.

I wonder if anyone could be of help to me. I have two DVD's to send back and I can't seem to find the envelope. Could someone please PM me the address off the envelope that they send out so that I can post them back. These are the last DVD's to send back before I cancel.

    Thanks in advance.
  • Who are you with?

don't use cinema paradiso, they are very slow and pay no attention to the order you want your dvds sent out.

I would look on Lovefilm website for customer services number. I lost the envelope to mine not long back (with Tesco/lovefilm) and explained on phone. They sent me another envelope :T
  • I've used most of the big players over the years & I find Blockbuster to be far & away the best.

    The reasons:

    1. They continue to send the films at the top of your list quickly even after the trial period has finished.
    2. The turnaround is literally by return of post...Lovefilm can take upto 2 days!
    3. If the film is a 2-disc version they will send you both discs as one item rather than 2 separate items.
    4. They seem to have improved the quality of their discs now. I haven't had a faulty one for ages. Lovefilm was once again particularly poor at this!

The only downside is their list management isn't as organised as the others.
