When depressed in your job role...

When younger i did a few agency warehouse jobs and knew thats NOT where i want to be. BUT i did do a warehouse job (agency) about 5 years ago for about 3 weeks and had a total blast, moving old furnature, lifting things up, putting things down, cleaning up, painting the walls.. it was fun because of the guy i was working with and really enjoyed our chats and jokes.
I second this. I've done the same job for 4 years and have seen a whole transition of managers to us little people. The people really make the job or break it. The pair I work with now jusy aren't the same as my ex colleagues but it's rubbing on everything sadly.
I've been fed up for a while but I just start saving for something to look forwards to. Whether it's a day trip, catching up with someone I havent seen for a while or a bar of chocolate, I give myself something to look forwards to. I Think most jobs are the same, it's just trying yo find one that's manageable andbearable:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

Remind me to never become employed. Self employed all the way for me. I left the job I hated in charity admin nearly 18 months ago and went self employed. I've had to scrape and save a bit while my business built up but its been worth it not to be miserable every day.0

When I find a job is depressing me or getting me down and making me uninterested in life I quit. I go to my GP first and get a diagnosis of work related stress hand in my notice and go onto jobseekers allowance and have never had to have a waiting period or a sanction for leaving a job.
However, I know not everyone can do that. I have always been a money saver. I can easily live on benefits and have money left over each week. All I cut out is just a few luxuries.
To be honest but that would bum me out even more!!!
- The hassle of going to GPs and handling your employers, then meeting some people who are doing a cushy government job with good job security (not that I'm jealous, but the point remains) who constantly hassle you to find another job.
- Burning your bridges with multiple employers and limiting your contacts in employment.
- Getting paid JSA (is it like £150 a fortnight?) when you can get paid £1,000+ a month at places like Maccies by putting in a bit of graft.
I would rather be depressed and get paid £1000+ a month than be on the dole and be slightly happier with a no frills life[STRIKE]style[/STRIKE].0 -

What do you do out of interest?
My relationship with 'work' has always been awful. I've hate feeling like a slave, grovelling to be allowed to take a toilet break and jumping though hoops at job interviews etc.
I think being my own boss would suit me much better, but I don't know what I'd do for a business!0 -
This is good advice thank you.
Its horrible, the Monday alarm just feels me with dread, in fact its slowly taken over my Sunday evenings!
I wonder if anyone had any tips for when you start feeling low and the loathing feeling is building, what helps give you a boost! I don't want to go down the medication route and I am looking for a new job (just not an ideal time of the year) I just need something a skill or advice to help me get out of my front door!
I do try an tell myself this job isn't forever but really, really feel its taking over my life in the negative!!!!
Thanks for all the replies, sorry to hear others in the same boat but great to hear the advice!0
