hello all,
I went into my local asda to use a voucher, which i received from there price guarantee. I went to the kiosk, and the member of staff told me there was a problem, as the scanner was not reading the bar code.
She then told me, Asda was updating there computer systems, but also said, she did not think the asda 10% price guarantee voucher might only be available online now, and not at the store.
i was a bit confused, as the reciept came from the store a day or so before, and i only got the voucer from there website yesterday night.
The member of staff suggested i talk to her supervisor. After several minutes, the supervisor arrived, and told me the voucher can no longer be accepted there. The store had received an email on 4th November.
Still confused, i paid for the shop, and left.
I have checked the asda website, and nothing mentioned, anyone know any more on this, or have the staff got it so wrong?

I had a stand off with an asda manager at the weekend, same thing I got my way and got my money off.
I brought up the website and her argument was it didn't specifically say valid in store, she brought a printed memo dated 4/11.
Tesco have also downgraded their price match to branded items.
I will stick to lidl now.0 -
Had no issues with using my 89p APG voucher this morning.
There was an advert on Asda FM about click n collect groceries highlighting the APG.
A ring to Asda House customer service should find out what is going onThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

From the T&Cs ...
11. Vouchers cannot be redeemed at stand-alone petrol filling stations or in transactions with any third parties who operate our in-store concessions. Unfortunately, vouchers cannot be redeemed against the following items and categories: Kiosk (including Tobacco, Newspapers and Magazines), Fuel, Lottery, Gift Cards, Mobile Phone Top-Up Cards, Infant Formula, Optical and Prescriptions. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

I just telephoned the asda customer care line. spoke to a real nice gentleman named Jason who was a star. gave him the low down of my experiences, and he confirmed the vouchers can be used in store. he ask for details of the voucher, gave me a reference number, and told me to return the store armed with the reference number, and ask the store to call them if there are any issues.
I think the email the stores received on 4th november was related to, if you purchase your shopping online, your vouchers are stored on your online account until you choose to use them.
The only difference I can see, is you now have to register before using your vouchers in store.
Fingers cross with my second visitTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
i went to my local Asda store today, my second visit in using my 10% price guarantee at Asda. I went to the self service machines this time. i know they work on these, as i have used them, plenty of times. I scanned my shopping, and u guessed it, problems again. a message kept coming up saying "please scan a different barcode" after a few tries, a staff member came over, he too had the same issues, and telephoned for a supervisor to come down.
i waited five minutes, which seemed ages, with the high turn over of customers. worse, i was using the first machine, cloest to the que.
The supervisor spoke to the staff member, and scanned my two vouchers. she told me, there had been a number of fake vouchers. I explained this was my second attempt at using the vouchers.
The supervisor said, it might be better if you use them at a checkout till instead. the then took me over to the customer service desk in the store, and told the staff member to scan my vouchers.
Yet again, the vouchers were not being accepted. The member of staff told me there had been a number of fake vouchers around. I told him, "mine were printed out online".
I was told, he would check with his line manager, and phoned hi/her.
I was told, if the vouchers were not going through, there was little that could be done. i then pulled out my trump card, the reference number from Asda customer services. I pleaded with the staff member, just to check with them, as I had spoken to them on the phone.
customer service, told him he could put the vouchers through manually.
what a complete joke. 10% cheaper than any other supermarket, i dont think so Asda!!Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
I've been through this today. All three of my APG vouchers scanned as 'invalid'. Was told by the customer service manager that they must have already been used (they hadn't). I feel a call to Asda House is in order.0

Go back into the store with your APG vouchers, and insist they call Asda House, like I did. Clearly there has been some technical issues, and customer house has been rubbish in communicating with the stores. I got more vouchers to use this coming week.
More fun and games until Asda address there IT issuesTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
I used mine today with no problem but noticed that it has two bar codes and the cashier used a hand held machine to scan the bottom voucher and then had to scan the bar code on the matching receipt.
I think the system has been updated and maybe down to staff not being informed.0 -
I used one today and they have had a system upgrade or something which means the coupons aren't being recognised and the tills (at least the self scan ones) are playing up. It was a £1.16 coupon and all the lady could do was take money off in increments of 50p, so extra off
It took about 3 attempts to get it to take a card payment for the remaining balance.
