  • Halifax score card for DIP is 'harsher' for self employed applicants than for employed applicants.

    It's unfortunate for you, but that's the way it is - they view self-employment as higher risk than employment.

    Perfect example of where a broker is needed - they would/should know this.

  • Thanks everyone for he input. I just wanted to know, if you are paid by a Day Rate, does that come under self-employment? I just tried the same Halifax AIP by selecing "Employed" instead of "Self Employed" and got accepted and offered much more than what I was expecting (at least 60% more than what I want).

    Are there any chances for me? Does that mean, my credit score is OK, its just the employment?
