I declared bankruptcy Dec 09...discharged Dec 10....I did recive A BRU that was satisfied in 2014, that will be on my credit file until October 16. I've recently been accepted for a Cap 1 card and Barclaycard initial. At what point am I likely to be accepted for a "normal" bank account, am thinking about applying but unsure if It is a good idea or not!?!

I wouldn't think that you will have any issues, perhaps trying to upgrade your currently used account to a 'current account' would help as your bank may use their own internal scoring for this.
May I ask why you received a BRU? I have recently begun bankruptcy and worry it might be a possibility.0 -
Yes sure...I was made redundant from my job due to health issues, I already had large depts so technically I was insolvent after loosing my job, however I waited many months before declaring bankruptcy, so I made the situation a lot worse than it needed to be. The OR stated I borrowed more money with no way of repaying it. They give me 3.5 year BRU it was discounted from 4 years for taking the BRU.
Due to being on sick, I didn't have to pay anything back everything was wiped.I'm in the middle of cleaning up my file at present Lloyds Banking Group have left all the accounts open defaults totalling 18k with wrong default dates! I paid £70 for discharge certificate today to sent to them!0
