Hi all,
We've just realised we have a debt around £1000 with an energy provider (moved house, had no letters, no phone calls or anything). I did however get a phone call on friday stating that they were alliance international calling on behalf opf the energy company and i put the phone down as i didnt realise i had the debt until i spoke with EDF. The thing is, i'm not sure wether i should pay EDF directly or should i pay them?
Any advice anyone can give would be greatly appreciated

The DCA is just acting on behalf of EDF, you can pay EDF, and ignore allied completely.
It won't appear on your credit file, they may ring a couple of times, but will soon be forgotten.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Ok, if EDF won't deal with you, you could make allied an offer to settle, if you do, do it in writing.
That way you should at least get a discount.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
