Hi all
Has anyone here managed to get accepted to rent with poor credit? My husband has good credit rating but mine is poor due I missing tons of payments when I took maternity leave with no pay as I had been a student.
Thanks

Hi Blackdahlia
You'll find that letting agencies generally do what are known as "soft" credit checks - this means they will only identify major black marks, such as county court judgments and insolvencies (i.e. bankruptcy etc.) from the past six years. More general stuff such as missed/late payments won't show up on such checks.

People rarely seem to hit problems with landlords unless bankrupt. I suspect its more a money making scam for the letting agents a couple of quid for a basic search helps them justify those awful fees they charge prospective tenants!!£1000 Emergency fund No90 £1000/1000

My husband had a CCJ, debt and I had poor score from debt. It doesnt mean anything really, agencies have their own criteria so score you themselves.
