So we have tried Nationwide now, and they apparently have the same problem - despite the fact that the current owner's mortgage on the SAME property is with Nationwide! Ready to give up now!0

Just to close this off, our mortgage broker spoke to various senior people at Nationwide and they agreed they will lend on this property after all. So if anyone comes across this in the future, it is worth persevering with the appeal.0
