Renegociating C.Tax payback?

Hi, i'm new here, I need a little bit of advice from you.
I received a letter from the Council advising that I need to payback £350, I called them earlier this week and I have asked to pay this back over the course of 2 months but since I have a bill of £140 settle as well I would like to renegociate the CT payment to 3 months.
Is it possible to call back the council to ammend the agreement? I can pay the £140 between this week and next, but things would be a lot easier if I could pay the CT over 3 months.
Can anyone advise?
Many thanks.

hi there it depends on your particular council really, as you can see from my sig i owe 330 quid which has accumulated over the past 3 months but i have phoned them and asked if they could hold out till the end of the month which they were fine with. always ring them and they will put it on your file, you can also spread your yearly bill over 12 months instead of 10. hope this helps xxLBM 29/07/ 07

I've been flatmate less for a couple of months so I've accumulated the CT and phone bill (£140) over those 3-4 months.
I now have a lovely flatmate so now I have a fair bit of money back, I don't want to go on living tightly so it makes sence to spread out the debt over 3 months.0 -
yeah i agree, like i said, just make sure you phone them and tell them your plan...question...did you claim single person council tax discount while you were flatmateless? if not you can claim it back, good luck xxxLBM 29/07/ 07
