Help I can get from Jobcenter plus

Hello, Since June I have been unemployed and I'm not on any benefits. I applied to several jobs and got a job at a local off license as a shop assistant. But it was only temporary. I applied to several jobs I saw on internet and I have not received a one job interview offer. I want to know if I register at JOBCENTER plus as unemployed will they be able to help me get work? through training or through their contacts or something? I don't want to register their solely for the purpose of JSA, if I don't get help getting back to work then it's useless for me to register there. Can someone help me what kind of help I can get from JOBCENTER plus apart from just JSA. my father can support me so I'm fine without JSA. I need real help into getting to a job. Please help thanks.

JC+ are unlikely to help you get a job as this isn't their remit, they exist to ensure claimants meet their agreement obligations (and other elements of claims).
You will not get any response from them if you are not their client. They can refer you on to providers who can offer coaching but again they may be unlikely to get you a job.
I don't know your age or history but you may wish to consider claiming JSA if only to maintain NI contributions.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
Although JC may not directly assist in getting a job, certainly vacancies are only available through JC to those registered with them. There will be a commitment from yourself required in order to get JSA. It's worth investigating as you will at least get some money.0

They might have a careers advisor in the job centre who can help with your CV but the staff aren't there to help you, they are there to tick boxes eg mark you down as having attended the JC for your allotted time.
There's a certain festive season coming, loads of temp jobs advertised from RM sorting office to working in a shop so apply for some xmas jobs, might only be for xmas but it could turn permanent once the contract has ended.0 -
As of a year ago when I was job seeking, they did help set me up with some interviews, not many as I did most of mine, but they also did work experience (un paid placements, but still good for the CV)
which helped me! "No one can change the past. The only thing we can do is strive to make up for our mistakes. Why must we make up for our mistakes, you ask? Because in so doing...we can find the way back to our path. And once we've found our path we can move on from our past mistakes toward a brighter future"

A lot with jobs is going the extra distance. I always write a letter with it linking what I can bring to the role from the main points they are looking for. I also include what I've done in past jobs that can be transferred as skills to the job I'm applying for. If you apply to agencies sometimes they can give you a guide (like I used a different Microsoft word package so when employers were looking at it it didn't make sense as it moved all the words around) so knew I needed to use a different word processor when applying for jobs. Also keep your ear to the ground as I think a lot of people get jobs when they know someone who works there.
Good luck:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

The job centre's role had changed somewhat, the advisor are not really advising much these days, more like dictate to you. They can refer you onto schemes but i think you have to be out of work for 1 year before you can get on them unless they have specific ones for age groups you would need to check with them for that.
You pretty much have to help yourself find work.My Signature is MY OWN!!0
