Fallout 4 on a lower spec machine

Hello all, I haven't bought a new PC game in ages, but big fan of fallout/elder scrolls and watched a few game play videos of Fallout 4.
However according to the system requirements my laptop falls below them, at least with the graphics card.
It has a gtx 560m, which has been fine so far. Runs Skyrim and bio shock infinite on high settings at 1080p with very playable framerates.
It's paired with an i7 2630QM and 8gb ram.
I'm not fussed about running the game at lower settings (if it was comparable to Fallout 3 I'd be perfectly happy with that - and to be honest from gameplay videos the visual difference doesn't seem huge to start with)
Do you reckon I'd be able to run it reasonably? Mixed views online from searching, but some people have suggested that they're able to run on medium with playable performance. I've seen there's a lot of tweak guides for eaking out a few extra frames here and there from the settings.
Ideally I'd get a new system (desktop - cheaper for better) but that's not affordable and considering how often I play games on PC now (once or twice a month probably) not worth it.

That site will scan your system & tell you if the game will run or not, it'll give you a rough idea before you go ahead & buy it.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -

Yes, I used that first that's what prompted me to hunt around for any posts related to running it on similar spec. As it suggested my system was below the requirements for the GPUMortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

Quick one, the graphics are a big improvement on Fallout 3, especially character animation. Gameplay videos generally don't give games much justice on that score.0

I couldn't afford a new graphics card in time for fallout 4, I figured I would just see what happened if I tried it on my current pc.
I'm running a nvidea 460 with an i3 (overclocked) and 8GB of ram. The game runs pretty smoothly, even though it is well below specs.
Will need a new card soon, but it works at least.0 -
Don't forget that on the nexus you can get performance mods that help with lower end systems. Im sure that with a few settings.ini changes you will be able to get the game working just fine on that:money:- ET Phone Home.....0
