    Yes been out tonight TS.

To what used to be a fabulous restaurant in Durham. But it's been marriotfied:(

The beautiful decor has been replaced with grey and mauve, the piano has disappeared as has the massive comfy sofas.

IKEA coffee tables are scattered around huge Sports TV's and the old marble columns stand silently embarrassed by the stainless steel lights with fluorescent bulbs.
The beautiful old cabinets full of local produce now advertise the spa facilities. The pool full of giant goldfish is now full of gravel.

We had coffee in the lounge and when I mentioned that mine was far too strong the waitress explained very carefully to me that it was because it was made in a machine with real coffee beans:o

    What!

    As opposed to pretend beans?

The most genuine thing was the gang of gorgeous hen party ladies in their latex lurex lurid little dresses. At least what you saw was what you got:o

Corporate interior design gone very badly wrong at the expense of heritage and tradition. I wondered what the mamas with student children, the academics sharing a bottle of wine and the happy weekend holiday makers thought of our lovely city:o

It is such a shame when somewhere is stripped of it's character. :(

The IDH gang arranged a night out on Wednesday. :rotfl:

Oh TS I was down your way the other week for a few days visiting DD and C Heath A's....the staff didnt have a clue about how to do the cidre coupons nor apg's, in the end I left the shopping at the till whilst they were still umming and arrhhing about whether they could take any vouchers. Toscos's T Park..not much better but Poole A's didnt know what to do but figured it out as a group exercise and were lovely about it..what a palaver. B's sada..appalling...(but then they always were, always good for a gc though with all the out of date sels's) I'll be down again sometime so will have to do the rounds and see if they've learnt anything about coupons yet..

So they lied to me when I went in the week saying mine were the first they had seen. ;) Sorry I have not trained them up on APGs yet. :rotfl:

Both Sainsbobs no problems at all, FB Ts no problem first couple of times and ok again tonight but did get trouted last week that I had photocopied them.

We've had a police helicopter circling about our house for about half an hour. Just been out to check and their searchlight is shining on my allotment:eek:

A police car is parked at the entrance to our drive.....dare me to go and ask:rotfl:

I was wondering if anyone can help me......
..........I want to get our friend a notebook and pen set gifted boxed but i'm having such a hard time finding a nice one that is reasonable priced.............I would be most grateful for any help :A

    thank you :T:T

There is a company called Original Crown Mill that do notebook sets. I only know this as comes up on daily competitions board.
Other sort is does he drive a special car as some dealerships have branded stuff in for Christmas.
Sure TM will have some advice as she loves her Moleskin notebooks.

Not buying wine as have plenty. Black Friday past me by. Ice to say nothing I need at the moment.

Don't know if it was on purpose or not but on both shops you bought wines which weren't in A's 6 for £25 so lost value and none of the wines compared to the 6 for £25 deal, just compared at regular price.

Oh they did lie indeed, I was there on the 16th and sent cousins in as well, so they have seen them before and the 1 time I was successful in there (in the morning with a nice woman) she just overrode it and input and said she'd had to do that since they'd had quite a few of those coupons. The evening visit...it was like a trout convention, the amount of sucking in of cheeks and tutting....and then the shocked look when I said No I don't want any of it, put it back I'll go to a store where staff are more polite...well I'm just surprised that their collective sourness didnt turn into lightning strikes and hailstones as I made my way to the car.. The trouting you had...just goes to show the intelligence of the person doing it-photocopies that just happened to be on newspaper grade paper with BOTH sides of the newspaper on it..:rotfl: You need steel in your blood sometimes in this game..onwards and upwards though...and yes raspberry is lovely, A's have elderflower, pretty sure I got some in Poole a's Marina
