The problem, though it's a good one, is that you spent the original £9 or whatever for the original shop, to get the £9 glitchy APG, but the next shop you've reduced the bill on that by £9 (nice problem to have!) so are spending less next time from the GC. I then had misprices too - that were refunding to what the SEL said and then a extra £2 and more back on the GC! I did get more GCs than what I spent in the year. After a year, I had two still left! I then spent the remainder of one of them over the next year, but must have had more wombles and APGs as I wasn't spending much. I still have one left, but has been run down to just over £50, so another one pound tonight, and then I'll try and get rid of it entirely in the next few months.

It's an excellent way of getting money off GCs by buying expensive APG shops. I had the nice expensive packs of condoms some time ago at £13 (or whatever they were) in A when S was on RTC £3, and they were getting quite a bit of money off of the GCs and putting it onto APGs to spend instead!:T I was wishing my wombles would buy those ones but :(they never did.

From my wombles from today, I thought they were going to turn out interesting. However, not as much interest as what I thought. I got one good one yesterday where they bought a Smokin' Hot gift set at £12:eek: in A that compared to T at £9:T, but sadly they deducted £1 off the APG by buying two tubs of Celebrations with it. If they had not bought those, my APG would be over £4. The gift set has gone down from £18 to £12 in A and I wish, of course, that they had bought it at £18 as that would have given me £6 more. If they had done that, and not bought the Celebrations, I would have had my first double-figure APG. So near and so close but they failed. I'm glad someone has claimed the APG back off that shop - A charging £3 more than T on the expensive set!

Now I have them buying, I think, this:

Glenmorangie Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 10 Years Old (700ml)

    Store_2.15px.png
    £26.00 £3.71 / 100ml
    • Store_3.15px.png
      [Strike]£35.00[/Strike]
      £25.00
    • Store_8.15px.png
      [Strike]£34.00[/Strike]
      £26.00
which, you can see, is £25 in Sains:T. However, :( about it being Sains. as it means everything else in the shop will be a bit more expensive. I noticed they've bought lots of McVities cheddar biscuits:(:( at 50p, which will doubtless go vs £1.10 each:mad:. Six packs of 50p biscuits in total:(. So, of that potential £3.50 from the whisky, they then have probably lost most of it on the biscuits:mad:. They've also got a £5 Nescafe:( (but I see Sains is £5:)) but then also have the toiletries at £3.89 each but 2 for £4 pricing which is not a good idea!:( I suspect it'll have lost so much, it might even work out "best" vs M. And then I suspect it may lose there too, so I won't be surprised if their good purchase of the malt scotch (but not good as regards vs T) has not been totally wiped out by everything else they've bought!:(

Curious to know why would you want to turn the GCs back into APGs? I much prefer to have GCs to APGs in my wallet (but happy enough to have either :)).

I have bought a few Christmas GCs over the past week (some adding APGs alongside Stella shops, others from my credit card) to trigger the bonus. I see no point getting the Christmas bonus during the rest of the year as cash is tied up until 15th November - may as well use APGs for normal shops/glitch shops or normal GC during the rest of the year to have cash flow then just buy Christmas bonus cards with cash/credit in the days leading up to the bonus.

I have on the old till system managed to use a different Giftcard to pay the balance of a shop where a new Giftcard was bought (so transferring the balance to the new card). Hopefully this will still be possible with the new system. I also have managed to get APGs onto gift cards by buying a new GC or adding to the balance alongside the other shopping then giving APGs for more than the shopping (so not overtly asking to put APGs into the GC).

Ideally there would be a quick way of turning GC back into cash..

Keep eye out for Table Table email 40% off code 16th to 20th nov.

Think each code will be individual looking at it.

Must find the other email about 2000 points for visiting twice not sure if that's expired or if somehow the 2 could be combined.

I am so cross, with Sky tv, with me grrrrr

I have been so engrossed in a programme over several weeks, always record it and watch back to back a couple of episodes.

Great I thought, Series 1, episode 1, so in at the start. I watched earlier today only to find out that it's the end if the series. Ok so When does Series 2 start then. I've been looking through the channels only to find out that the programme is now into Series 6 and I can't see series 2.

Oh well, I'll just have to stick with Gold Divers and Gold Rush. I think I want to go and live in Alaska, such a beautiful looking place. I wouldn't like to live in Nome, but would live to go there diving for gold
    :D

This is a very expensive, useless item IMO to be buying in A:

    1x L 'Oreal Elvive Colour Protect Caring Shampoo (500ML) £4.79 N/A

And completely useless as it does not compare against anywhere. Another grossly expensive filler from one of my womblees:rotfl:. Their overall shop: not 10% cheaper, 17p versus Waitrose:(:rotfl:.

[1] Because it makes no sense to have money stuck with them on GCs gaining me/you no interest. That said, money 'locked up' in APGs is also locked with them. I think I just prefer to get it off the cards as soon as possible, as it's gaining no interest after today and onto APGs that can be 'recycled' against a future shop. That said, GCs could also pay for another shop.

I don't understand these people that 'top up' their GCs through the year as some sort of 'savings' thing. It's getting no interest, which you could have if it were in the bank etc., and instead the only point is to save for one day, today, and then get rid of the money as soon as possible! The "savings" is also restricted to spending with them (this is true of all GC schemes and not specifically any complaint about A) - you are not saving, you are spending, with them. Another supermarket idea to tell us we are "saving" again, when we are not. If you "save" money on a card, you are paying them, real money, in advance, to spend with them. The supermarkets don't even need to make the sale there and then - you have given them all the money, upfront, for the prospect that you might get some items from them at some point in the future.

[2] Yes, but that's exactly what they do not want. Far better for them to force you to leave the money with them, and gaining interest in their bank, as well as ensuring you keep your custom with them (if only to get you back into stores, to spend) and they don't let you spend the GCs on fuel either!:mad:
