I'm back! There was not as much change in M as I thought there could be; more like a normal new week changeover. I think I can expect about the same level next week. So, rather than 'everything' having ended this week, I think it's about half this week and half next week:cool:. That said, there are quite a few changes so I'll go and cross out the expiring ones from the M list. One of the bigger changes upwards is on the Fray Bentos pies (425g). I saw one of them comparing £2.19 vs M £1 yesterday, and that will still work at the moment - however it may be about to end for vs M shops as they have shot up to £2.20 in M now! I think at least some of them may be vs T at £1. The Princes pies 2 for £2 offer in M is still on, but - why?!?:rotfl: In other words, why bother with that?
However, Princes 4 pack tunas, that were £2, although I still have them showing the older 3 and 2 for £5 price in error in a rack elsewhere in the store - I now have them as £4.96 straight and no mbuy:eek: on the shelf, so I think they may be going off. At least one of them has been picking up £2 on the APG and if that was Wednesday, it will still work at the moment.
The 70cl alcohols mbuy (excludes Scotland) is off and now going to 1L versions of some of the alcohols at £15, which is actually a slightly worse offer. I saw one 70cl alcohol as straight £10 for Sains. so it might work Avs S and no need to buy two!
I think the Mugshots have also gone up in price to 5 for £3.
If the Pork Shoulder is on my list - I lose track as to whether it's on or off - then it is now going off as it's gone somewhat up in price! There is now some non-comparable Pork Shoulder in M - and I think it's at a better price than 10% off the now expiring old price of the comparable Pork Shoulder.
There's now a frozen "meal deal" offer in M which I think is "alright". It's pay £3 on a Goodfella's "Takeaway" pizza (big 553g), McCains Original Straight Cut Oven Chips 907g and a Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream pot (500g) (but NOT the "Core" versions). The price of some of the Ben & Jerry's by itself is £3 so, even if you wanted just that, you would still add the pizza and the oven chips as they would cost you no more.
Of course none of us would buy Ben & Jerry's at £3:eek: (unless of course comparison vs elsewhere cheaper). If I apportion the "meal deal" offer as meaning £1 per item, then the Ben & Jerry's at that price are somewhat worse than the Wall's Big Bite that was on RTC 50p in M earlier and worse than SP Ice Cream 2L, of course, but £1 is not too bad for some of you and was my old price before we had the Wall's. I think it's a bit of an overpayment on the McCain Oven Chips (and of course SP at more than one and a half times the amount are three quarters of the price, or lower on a 10% comparison) but the pizza at £1 is quite a weighty one and a lot more weight than the Dr Oetker pizza weights at worse straight offer prices at previous times. Nonetheless, it's not taking into account any of the usual tricks that the Elite muster up on the Dr Oetkers to get those cheaper still.
It's my understanding that items on meal deal offer wouldn't compare to that offer from the competitors - although they are all branded so you can consider the T&Cs of TBG as well as APG. My understanding is that they don't compare - although, then again, they are not 3 for 2 offers and, although the individual prices are different, it could be like a straight 3 for £3 mbuy. That however would be expecting them to pick up all possible variants within that offer. Also you could not buy for example 3 Goodfella's pizzas for £3, so in that way it isn't a 3 for £3 mbuy - though, if it were, perhaps incorrectly, to be treated like that from a competitor's scheme, then it could allow some technical glitching. I doubt it will be included in those schemes however precisely because it's therefore not a straight 3 for £3 and instead it's a "promotion that's difficult to compare to" and therefore excluded:(. (We're not happy at it being excluded, if that is the case. It means our shopping isn't guaranteed to be 10% cheaper after all, and that we would pay more at T and without recourse if the T&Cs exclude it. We don't like it when a competitor's (namely Ms) offer is excluded, rather than the store we're shopping at excluding one of its own offers.)
There's at least two Goodfella's pizzas and several different Ben & Jerry's that could be bought in a mix - I'm not bothering with attempting to show every possible combination that could be bought on the M list but instead I'll just put "all varieties" or else put all the details together. I think it's a "buy in M" - I may stand corrected although I doubt it'll be easy getting it to compare from elsewhere. It will of course be impossible on the APG at this moment as it will be nowhere near updated yet.
There's still lots to cross out and to add on, so I'll just get to that - I obviously can't mention it all here even if I could.0 -

I think it's just a good price for the beef Emerald, rather than getting an APG for it....those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

It's not even December yet. Don't get me wrong I love Christmas. I'm a big kid at heart and still believe in all the magic but even I get fed up of dusting and hoovering around everything by the time Christmas comes so another couple of weeks without it will be perfectly fine:rotfl:
Our tree went up on the 8th November :rotfl: :j#CHEEKY :cool:0 -
