greed
(grēd)
n.
An excessive desire to acquire or possess more than what one needs or deserves, especially with respect to material wealth: "Many ... attach to competition the stigma of selfish greed" (Henry Fawcett).
I am sure there are lots of us that don't think it's ok, across our own individual lines maybe but there are all sorts in this world and sometimes you just have to get along.
We are such a diverse group there are always going to be extreme personalities, yes Henlans I am saying you are extreme. But then to my family and friends so am I with my shopping habits.
My gut feeling is my family have had to learn to live with me and maybe The Elite has to learn to live with Henlans....but maybe not be in the same room all of the time.
At the end of the day, you, me, Henlans and pretty much everyone else reading this post wants the best for their family, their children and we will do whatever we can to provide as much as we can for them.
Whatever money I earn now, or gain from car booting my stashes will be put towards my childrens' future. It'll be used for clothing them and paying for school trips in their younger years, then helping them through Uni (if they choose to go), first car, house deposit, wedding etc.
Some people might see Henlans as a PITA who gloats about glitches and sometimes crosses an invisible line. You know what, perhaps you are right, maybe he is and maybe that is just his way. However, I have seen a different side to him, but I won't bore you all with it..:rotfl:
Most people in life do things that they are good at to make money for their nearest and dearest to make sure they have the best opportunities available to them. Shopping to make money is a skill and one that some of us use to make a bit of extra cash. Is that wrong or greedy or might it be appropriate to think of it as having a second job because your main job doesn't pay you enough to provide your family with as much as you would like?
As TS said, we are a ridiculously diverse bunch on here. Some on benefits who are desperate for whatever help they can get so they can feed their families and pay the bills, some low paid who like the fact they can now buy brand items rather than own brand or smart price, some who want to provide the best future for their kids and some who just enjoy the buzz of getting free, or better than free stuff.
Time to stop waffling now, however, before I do I have one more thing to say..
Happy birthday FC..:)0 -

That's the reason I have got 2 of my 3 kids into some of the best schools in the country (top 10 state, boys, girls).
They will get 4 A*s and go to great Univs. We can't afford private but we are not stupid.
My other son has a few issues.
I also do my best for him.
As I assume we all do.0 -
