So you have done phone support before then Paul?
i have been a field IT/SatComms engineer for 5+ years so it will be
interesting talking people through things instead of doing it myself,
doing this while I study for a part-time IT degree along with CCNA
etc, My industry mainly vsat Satellite Comms has died a death due to the
rise of ADSL etc, so need to move into this area now

Worked for BT as an agency temp for a number of months, even did the call center side for a few months. Don't hold that against me though

At the moment I have my wireless ADSL modem/router connected into the master socket along with the DECT base unit. We do have other extension sockets in the house but they were disconnected as the wiring in the house is really poor and meant that our 12 meg broadband was not stable.

Is my only option to run two long cables(cat5 and telephone) into my room or is there anything else that can be done?

Other than moving the pc to the socket,
you will have to run cables I am afraid
