Rejection from own bank

Hello,

I have recently applied for a loan for £7,500 over 4 years to consolidate my credit card and overdraft debts. Although I didn't obtain my credit record I'm sure I've got a good credit rating as I've never missed any payments apart from once when the direct debit was not set up and this was years ago.

Anyway I was referred to the underwriters and they told me that I have been rejected. I was just rejected and they wouldn't discuss giving me a lower amount or anything.

What are the chances of being successful with another provider? I know on this site it says that the best chances of being accepted are with your bank.

Thanks in advance

  • Get a copy of your credit files first.
They will cost you £2 each.

For a straight decline I would think there is adverse information of some kind on there.

Are you sure that you have had no previous credit problems - mobile phone companies are !!!!!!s for messing up people's credit files!
