  • I know what you mean - I have some. I think mine are by Viners. IIRC OH picked them up from a factory shop in Sheffield years ago. I could really do with some more.

I have Viners ones too, they match the rest of the cutlery but bigger.

I know exactly what you mean OP. I have some modern ones with my kitchen cutlery set that are quite small and shallow. They're not much bigger than a dessert spoon. Fine for serving veg but no good for serving out a casserole.

I have some spoons like this:

My everyday ones are inherited and the ones in my 'best' canteen of cutlery are a similar size.

Unless you want to pay a lot in somewhere like John Lewis, I'd suggest you look around the chazza shops.

Morrissons do a pair of flatware servers for about £2 iirc; it's pocket change either way xxx

    Morning

A few years back I wanted some serving spoons that weren't from a kitchen utensil set and managed to find some as a pair of serving spoons in one of the big supermarkets. If you look at any of them now, they very often do extended tableware ranges in the run to Christmas and you might be able to find what you're looking for. I've bought my family sets of this type of serving spoons as part of the their Christmas prezzies a few years ago, as you don't generally buy them for yourself. I'd try a big MrT or big Sainsbugs if you've one close by.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards

Charity shops & car boots, as I think you are looking for the large kind of spoons that went out of fashion some time ago - I have some that I inherited.
I have also picked up useful shallow ladles of different sizes at Chinese supermarkets (in this country I mean, not supermarkets in China!)
