anyone done work experience at poundland ?

yesterday I posted about doing voluntary work at poundland , today I was told at the jobcentre that I have no choice and I have to do it.

has anyone done work experience at poundland through the jobcentre before and can tell me what it is like?

is it just stacking shelves or are you allowed to work on the tills?

Comments

  • a friend of mine did it, she was only stocking shelves all day. she was not allowed to use the till.

Unfortunately that is the way of things nowadays.
Some folks on this forum think that it is a good thing for the employee to work for no wages, that they will gain some experience.
I should think that the majority of us have shelves at home that need filling from time to time or maybe when we feel the creative urge, we can swap things round a bit.;)
Thi is basically getting Christmas staff for free thanks to the government.

Here is a list of UK companies which have taken part in workfare schemes.
