Would like to add too that tax credits, like all government expenditure, quickly circulates the economy and comes back as vat, so long as it stays within the country

Don't think id get another student loan either, even though I followed my parents foolish advice to pay it off

You don't have to go back to uni to gain higher skills. You can train in many other ways including on the job, depends what you want to do.

  • Have never seen the point in working myself, overtime or otherwise. Loans? Yes. Pay them back? If you can afford to. Sharking? Not suitable for discussion on a public forum....

I definitely feel like I've no choice but to work, job seekers is supposed to result in work and looking and applying would feel like work itself, maybe less intense though. I think if society didn't force /moraly confound people into it society wouldn't function, and the powers that be want you to work all the hours to pay all the tax to benefit the taxman and maximise their labour supply. I've noticed in politics 'hard working' actually means high earning, if someone is on a low income they must be lazy, whereas nobody is more 'productive' than footballers, pop stars and chief execs

  • Matthew, society encourages people to work so that they can buy thing's that they don't need. Consumer goods. The best things in life are free. All we really need to do is grow a few crops, do a little farming and enjoy nature itself. The government don't want you to know that though because they want to retain their stranglehold on the country.

Probably true Colin, if everyone was like me the economy would be bust and the only type of shop would be a supermeerkat. I think the fact property inflation is much higher than consumer inflation shows that people are putting money into their more desperate needs first. I wouldn't bother working more for most luxuries. Physical needs enslave us...

I think that division of labour & allowing farmers to do the growing can be more efficient
