Asking for pay rise?

When you were offered this new role with its far greater responsibility what were you told about the salary prospects? Did you ask what the salary implications would be? When you are established in this new role and, I hope, proved you can do it competently (say three months) you might be in a far stronger position than you are now.0

At the moment I'm doing the new role as a favour.
The person I'm covering can not have a holiday unless somebody if trained up to do it. My boss did say it would be good for my development but I never asked about money as I thought I was already on the higher salary.
In April my money was increased by £200 to the benchmark, but I discovered today that the benchmark has been increased and all the newer people taking on the role are all starting on this newly increased benchmark, but I'm still on the old one.Lightbulb moment Dec 2005 - debt £23700

Then you deserve to be on the 'new benchmark' at least.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
