Amazon Items Missing from Package

So my Christmas shopping from amazon arrived today, but two items listed as new were nowhere near (I buy to resell regularly and they're bootsale quality), and one item was missing completely. With regards to the missing item, does anybody know how they will deal with this? What's to stop people committing fraud by saying they haven't received items? There was also no invoice in the box, only the one online from the order. Not happy at all, and this was the order entirely sold by Amazon, no 3rd parties.

Amazon customer service is usually pretty good - I'd be surprised if they didn't just take your word for it.

Have you checked your account to make sure they didn't send them out separately?

After half an hour on the phone (foreign call centre, hard to understand but very friendly), they have refunded the missing item and send a replacement for the book even before I've returned it, I think it's probably best to uncheck the box that says "Wait until all items are available and send together", as they always seemed to be loosely packed into a big box that often gets damaged in transit (3rd time there's been rips and loosely packed delicates), and books have nothing protecting them. I've never had an issue with items sent separately.
