WTC couple with one child working 24 hrs

If we are both working and I have 16hrs and my partner works 8 hours then we DO qualify for WTC right?
But it comes out a lot lower than if we were working 30hrs on the calculator??????????
I thought if you earned more then your benefits would be less?
Also any information when ths 24hrs min will be changing?

the whole point of WTC is to encourage people to work. So the more hours you work, the more tax credits you would be entitled to.0

The benefit forum members might have more info about when tax credits are scrapped when the Universal Credit system is implemented.
Also, I think the expectation for hours worked depends on the age of the children. Again, they can clarify.0
