The Earth would survive almost any amount of global warming however people are adapted to exist in a particular range of climates. If you take the world out of that range then people find it harder to thrive.

A large temperature change would probably result in a lot fewer people.

There are also unknown effects of climate change, some of which are quite nasty potentially. If you want an example look up the climate of Venus.

humans would not be impacted much at all as the changes will be small and over long periods of time

not to mention we already live in extremes think cold parts of canada vs hot parts of australia and everything in between
  • I don't think there's any more than a tiny fraction of the world's population that has come to terms with the fact that we can't carry on consuming more and more, so I think that's exactly what will happen until such time as several critical resources run out, and human civilisation collapses.

What critical resources are we running out of or going to run out of?

Water isn't a scarce resource, its quality and distribution that is the problem, both of which can be solved by technology.

95% of water is wasted : there seems some scope for improving that

the lack of access to clean drinking water is caused by bad / corrupt government and wars and not related to water shortage

if this was a serious issue then they would all die and hence wouldn't be short of water any more

clearly there is enough water because 2.8billion people are complaining

When the climate changes and it's harder to live where you are, people move. You see that as far back as the the cavemen. And places that were once green oasis are now deserts. I thought watching the news only the other day that 'cos of there being no rain food production in Etheopia (spl) is down by 90%. Will this lead to mass movement of populations of immigrants to the West.
Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.
