ESA and wanting to return to work

Hi everyone
I currently get ESA and other benefits such as HB, free school meals, Council Tax, PIP help etc.
I would like to start to think about going self employed as an inspirational speaker. I have done research into it and see that it is a viable option. My concern is that for the first 12 months I would receive no income from this so would I be eligable for welfare help at all. I am a single parent with 3 children living in private rented.
I have drafted a business plan and see for the first 12-18 months things financially would be unbearable if all my benefits were to stop dead.
Are there any options for me to explore to see me through the first 12 - 18 months? Thank you

You may be eligible for working tax credits if you are working 16 hours or more a week. However HMRC are likely to look into the viability of your business plan, whether it counts as meaningful work.
Could I ask in what way you are looking to inspire people? No disrespect but your situation doesn't appear to be very inspiring?0 -
You should ask on the benefits forum.0
