Got an interview today for a second Job. Earn 33k PA from main Job and this second job will hopefully be 10-20 hours a week probably just until Xmas but maybe longer. The pay will be around £8 per hour.
Can anyone tell me how much I will see after tax per hour?

i presume you'd be taxed at 20% basic rate on income and 12% for NIC (or 2% for NIC if you defer it).

NI starts at 12% on the excess over £157 a week, so you are unlikely to pay any0 -
Ok, so if I earn less than £157 a week from this second job I would only lose 20% tax so £1.60 per hour based on an £8 per hour job? Also, I gather I lose child benefit if I earn over forty something grand. Doubt I will get close to that threshold but if I do carry on with this extra job what is the threshold there?0
