A lot of people wade in to a GDC complaint when they are understandably upset. However in terms of sanctions against the dentist they can do lots .... but they are powerless to do anything for you at all. Even if the dentist were to be erased from the register (which would be a couple of years down the line) ... you would still get zilch and have to STILL go via solictors/the dentists defence company for any cash ... both of which will again take time so I Would skip the GDC referral to be honest unless you really are banging your head against the wall and getting nowhere.
The DCS are a GDC set up so at least it would be in the system but their focus is to manage the situation.
