Selling crockery

I have several pieces of china and crockery that I do not like or have never used. Is it worth selling them to a china search&replacement outfit? I'm inclined to do so as it would get rid of the lot, rather than having the stuff hanging around on *bay. I'm also a bit wary of selling crockery and then posting it , for obvious smashing reasons! Or would I get such a dismal price with the replacement outfit that I would be better off risking *bay?
I don't know anyone who has dealt with a search&replacement company, buying or selling, so any recommendations would be very gratefully recieved.

Depends how much you've got and what it is worth. If you're not sure, ask what they search firms would offer you - then decide whether to accept or try your luck on ebay.0

local auctions ? unless its worth a few bob them you are not likely to get much for it"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0

It is very ordinary high Street stuff, no antiques or collectors items.
I can give some of these re-sellers a ring and see what they offer.
I was just hoping that someone had personal experience dealing with such businesses.0 -

I used to deal a lot in China and glass but the china search type places never wanted anything I offered them. I do know one person who sold some Habitat china to them (I think it was Habitat, something retro that you can't buy anymore)- it was completely mint and boxed and they did very well out of it, the company sent packing boxes for the seller to use.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for the info. I'll see what kind of offers I can get.0

If it's run of the mill stuff which is still in production, the re-sellers won't be interested.
Instead of ringing to ask what they'd offer you for what you are selling, why not ring and ask how much they'd charge to supply you with...[give a couple of examples of what you are selling]. Then see how much they'd pay if you sold to them!0
