Actually you can get a wall-sized planner even if you don't have an A3 printer. On the A3 planner page there's an option for this A3 planner that prints on two A4 pages. Just add glue.
I'd missed that, ta! With the aid of a bit of sellotape on the back I now have a wall planner. You can't see the join.0
