I saw today a BEKO 20" LCD TV for sale at £299 - Good value ?
The model was a 20LB450 with the following spec :-
20inch LCD Panel
16,222,216 colours (8 Bits)
Built in, Multi System Tuner (PAL/SECAM)
500:1 Contrast Ratio
Built in Teletext (124 pages)
On Screen Display
Low Energy Consumption
Automatic Volume Levelling
450 cd/m² Brightness
Programmable On/Off timer
5 Band Graphical Equalizer
PC Input
Most of that means little to me, but it seems to be very good value ? What do you think ?

One mentioned here for £195+ VAT. Didn't order one myself, but I'm told they're ok for the money.0

The one mentioned in the above post is a refurbished model and with Vat included it would be around £235.
I'd recommend paying the extra few quid for a new one.
Oh and despite what it says on the above site, these screens work perfectly well with PCs - no problems with resolution. I have one and use it with PC, DVD, digital TV and Xbox. Pictures and text are sharp on all the above.0 -
I definately wouldn't recommend it for use with a PC - LCD TV's tend to have a max resolution of 800x600 (usually) or 1024x768 (a few), which while it will work, everything will be horribly big.0

Heres another one - £282 inc VAT, and it's brand new.0

yes we brought the same one from Argos a month ago for £299-it's for our bedroom and seems to be fine.....worth buying..........0

As I said, I have the Beko 20in LCD and it works perfectly with a PC.0

May I ask what resolution you run it at? How does it look?
I have attempted this a few times and the display is simply dire (to me anyway) - but it's the general consensus that LCD TVs are far too low resolution for use as a Monitor.
I'm assuming by the way that a) you use it for regular things like web browsing and document handling and b) you're not using Windows Media Centre (which of course is designed to look fine on all TV's)
I'm not saying it won't work, but I'd be surprised if you find it acceptable - just curious.0 -
As I've said three times now ;-) pictures and text are sharp. I am using it now, for example. It has a VGA connection and is easy to set up as follows:
800x600 pixels
My graphics card: SiS 315_315E
Setting: Highest (32 bit)
I use it for all the usual things: web browsing, word processing, graphics manipulation on Photoshop etc. It looks A1. Short of inviting you all round to have a look, I don't know what else I can do to convince you!0 -

Jon, the last time I saw your name against a post for LCD TV's I was up half the night :rotfl:0 -
Jon, my apologies, I realise that you find it fine and of course text will be sharp.
To be honest though, I struggle to understand how you can get by running it at that resolution - I find it painfully big even on a 15" monitor!
However, if it works for you, then I guess thats all that matters :-)0
